Happy July - Goals and Post-Op Update

Happy July!!!!  A new month with new goals!  I have had a pretty stagnant first half of the year with weight loss, but I have learned a lot about myself.  Attending Fitbloggin was a wonderful thing for me this year and really sparked my enthusiasm for this blog.  I will write a recap or two about my trip soon, but I am still processing everything from the long weekend.

BUT, here are my goals for July:
I had another post-op visit today.  Doctor said I could start walking on it without crutches or the knee scooter for the next two weeks.  He suggested using a cane to kinda help balance myself in the beginning.  I am having a lot of pain on the bottom of my heel on that foot when I step all the way down.  He said it is most likely plantar faciitis.  He said that is very common after this surgery because the foot has been immobile for so long.  He thinks it should go away on it's own, but if not he will give me a steroid shot when I see him again in three weeks.  So hopefully that goes away quickly.  I look like a zombie when I am walking, but with practice it should get easier!

In case you missed it yesterday, here were my goodies from my WW Cheer Buddy for June:

There are still a few days to join Weight Watcher's Cheer Buddies for July. For more information click here! Check it out!

Also, I am still looking for more stories to share for Transformation Tuesday! If you would like a chance to tell your story, click here to fill out the form.  I LOVE seeing all of the inspiration and we have to lift each other up! We are all in this together!

That is it for today! Sending you all love and healthy wishes!

Days 573-575 - One Legged Workout and Foodie PenPal Reveal

Happy Friday!!!  Today has been a great day so far.  I had another post-op visit this morning and he removed my cast and I got to see my incision for the first time:

He removed the staples and put on a new beautiful purple cast:

Two more weeks in this cast and then a boot cast for 4 weeks.  Then my son and I headed to Subway for lunch.  He has decided to do Weight Watchers and work out with me this summer.  I am so happy!!! I got my favorite double chopped chicken salad loaded with all the veggies, avocado, and red wine vinegar.  A HUGE salad for only 6 points+.  I was so sad that I could not even finish it and had to throw some away!
Then we headed to the gym where my son signed up for the summer!!  YAY!!!!!!
I had a training session today for the first time since my surgery.  I did manage to warm-up on the bike for 10 minutes (1.2 miles)  And then here was my circuit for today:
May not seem like much, but balancing on one leg and trying the above was quite a workout!  It felt so good to get back to the gym!!!  Here is our post-workout selfie he HAD to take in the mirror! (Ignore my shorts riding up)
Then a trip to Starbucks for an iced skinny vanilla latte (3 points+)
It was a good day around here!  Hope you all had a good day too.  And now for my foodie pen pal reveal.

I tried the Bombay Potatoes over some brown rice and OH MY was it delicious!  Hubby really liked the Chana Choor.  Haven't tried the Spinach Dal yet!
I ate these bottom two bars already and they were YUMMY!  Have not had a chance to try anything else.  This was an AWESOME package!!!

Days 555-557 - Weekend recap, surgery, and a recipe

Happy Monday everyone!  Hope you all had an AMAZING weekend!  I know I did.

I spent Saturday working at our family business with my hubby and the boys.  Here is my handsome duo baling up up some cardboard in the brand new baler!

Then my sister and my nephew came to spend the night with us.  We had a great visit!

Sunday morning, I woke up and my oldest baby had made my sister and I breakfast for Mother's Day.

He made us cinnamon rolls and scrambled eggs served on a tray in heart shaped bowls.  Coffee for me and hot tea for my sis in Mom mugs.  This made me feel so loved more than any other gift I could receive!   Then my mom and dad, aunt and uncle, and other sister and nephew came over and my hubby grilled out burgers and hot dogs.  We enjoyed a great time together celebrating motherhood!  I even got to hold the two baby kitties we MIGHT be getting from my sister.  I want one and my oldest wants a different one.  How can you choose, they are SO cute.
I made a new recipe for our get together.  It was yummy and everyone LOVED it.
Weight Watchers Fruit Fluff
The entire batch is 12 points+
I seperated it into 5 servings that made about 1/2 cup each for 2 points+ per serving
Ingredients:
8 oz fat free cool whip
1 small box sugar free vanilla pudding mix
1 small box sugar free raspberry jello mix
1 can pineapple chunks (in their own juice)
1 can fruit cocktail (no sugar added)

Directions:
Mix together the cool whip, pudding mix, and jello mix until well combined.  Drain fruit.  Gently fold in the fruit.  Cover and chill!

You can change up the fruits and flavors or jello that you use in this recipe and make ALL kinds of flavors.

Today started off kinda rough with my sister getting sick.  I had to postpone my training for today and take care of her.  She is a type 1 diabetic and her blood sugar dropped dangerously low.  She is doing much better this evening, just has a bad headache.  So I will now have my training on Wednesday at 12:30.

I also got my surgery scheduled for Thursday at 10:15.  I am trying to get everything together and organized and loose ends ties up beforehand.  I am a little bummed that I will miss the Color Run on Saturday, but I did have our packets mailed to us, so we at least got our goodies!  There is always next year!

Whew, that was a random blabbering post.  Tune in tomorrow for another Transformation Tuesday story!  Sending you all love and healthy wishes!
